Life After Service

After completing his service in the Army, Randall Moores wanted to revive his family farm in Ashtabula, Ohio. To set the farm up for success he needed to hone his agriculture skills but wanted to stay close to home. That’s when Moores decided to enroll in the Master in Plant Health Management degree at Ohio State online. Tuition Benefits

Prior Learning Assessment for Military Credit

Ohio State grants credit for officially documented military training, experience and/or coursework, as recommended by the American Council on Education, through the Prior Learning Assessment Military Credit. Read more about military credit at transfercredit.ohio.gov.

General Education Military Credit

Ohio State undergraduate, degree-seeking military member and Veteran students who have served in a foreign country, outside of the United States for at least 90 days (consecutive or non-consecutive) are eligible to receive general education credit (Global Studies in legacy GE and Social & Behavioral Sciences in new GE) for their experience and training through the General Education Military Credit.

Service to Service

Through the Service to Service program, the John Glenn College of Public Affairs provides additional support, resources, and programs to active-duty military, veterans, and their families enrolled in public affairs graduate programs including the Master of Public Administration and Master of Public Administration and Leadership online programs. Applying

When applying, you will follow the same steps as other applicants. Ohio State does consider your military experience during the application evaluation process. For information on the admissions process for the online program you’re interested in, take a look at the admissions page including specific guidelines for military and veteran students.

Eligibility for Seeking Licensure or Certification

State Authorization allows Ohio State to offer educational opportunities to students nationwide. We have a team dedicated to researching regulations and seeking and maintaining compliance with those regulations so you can participate in online programs wherever you’re stationed in the United States.
